What can I tell you about me?

I am a bit scared of heights, marginally frightened of the dark and a tad claustrophobic. I escaped from the city a few years ago to live in country Queensland with my partner. Being a late bloomer, I only recently received a BA from the University of Southern Queensland as a mature-aged student, majoring in journalism and English Literature.

My first manuscript – a novel of erotica – was consigned to a box in the bottom of the wardrobe when an editor labelled it pornography.

I am most proud of:

• My literary essay ‘The Australian Larrikin: CJ Dennis’s [Un]sentimental Bloke’ which was published in Antipodes in 2007.
• My Novella ‘Dances with Rabbits’ which was highly commended in the Queensland Arts Council Awards in 2006.
• My son.
• My novel ‘8 States of Catastrophe’.

I am currently hard at work on my next novel. I work, I eat and I play but most of all I write, write, write.
